MegaSystems Security is a Jewish-owned, Houston-based provider of integrated security and target-hardening solutions – an essential service during this turbulent time of antisemitism.
MegaSystems owner Guy Mizrahi, a Jerusalem native and Israel Defense Forces veteran, has more than 15 years of experience in the security profession.
The company has residential and commercial clients, including many Jewish organizations in the Greater Houston area.
“Anything having to do with the security of Jewish institutions is very close to my heart,” Mizrahi told the JHV. “It’s a very important mission, and we take it very seriously.”
Chabad of West Houston Rabbi Dovid Goldstein has worked with MegaSystems for several years. Chabad was among one of MegaSystem’s first clients.
“Guy is a very honest person and a very creative solution finder,” Rabbi Goldstein said. “Customer service has been very good, and he’s very helpful in ensuring our security needs are met. We are living in a time where we have to make sure we do our spiritual security, but at the same, we have to do our physical security.”
One of the most integral services MegaSystems offers is support in the annual applications of Department of Homeland Security safety grants.
“It’s a very tedious project from A to Z, and he takes care of all the pieces to make sure the customer’s organization is secure,” the rabbi said.
MegaSystems’ COO Kayla Keller said the company’s “Commitment extends beyond project completion … to robust quality assurance plans and ongoing system maintenance to ensure security systems perform on … day 1, as they do five years after installation. Our team is always available to address questions, provide support and offer recommendations for future security needs.”
When Mizrahi completed his military service as a platoon commander and second to a company commander, he traveled throughout the United States, eventually settling in the Houston area where some of his relatives were living.
He went to work for an uncle in electronics and gradually became more interested in home and commercial security – although the early 2000s’ technology pales in comparison to what’s available today. He worked for Bang & Olufsen – a Danish company – for several years before establishing MegaSystems in 2010.
The company, which has expanded from one employee to 10, provides everything security-related (highest-grade security cameras, burglar alarms and technology at the point of entry, for example), with the exception of guard services. The company will recommend warranted guard services to clients.
“We understand the security needs of the consumer, and we tailor security systems based on their security needs,” Mizrahi said.
